We have learned there are Three species of trees commonly referred to as Redwoods:

Coastal Redwoods along California’s Pacific Coast, Sequoia Redwoods further inland, and China’s Dawn Redwood.

Coastal Redwoods are the tallest:
Tallest Tree: 379 feet Redwood National and State Parks As tall as a 37-story building
Widest Tree: 29.2 feet Redwood National and State Parks.

Giant Sequoia Redwoods are the largest:
Tallest Tree: 316 feet Redwood Mountain Grove As tall as a 31-story building
Widest Tree: 31.4 feet Kings Canyon National Park.
Biggest tree: 642 tons Sequoia National Park About 107 elephants

Dawn Redwoods, (Metasequoia Glyptostroboides), are found in Sichuan-Hubei region of South-Central China and they are the smallest:
Tallest Dawn Redwood in China: 120 feet.
Metasequoia Glyptostroboides is unique because it is a deciduous tree. It has leaves not needles like the other two.

Coastal Redwoods are the tallest

Sequoia Redwoods are the most Massive.

Dawn Redwoods are the Smallest.

Tallest Tree: 379 feet Redwood National and State Parks.
Widest Tree: 29.2 feet Redwood National and State Parks.
Tallest Tree: 316 feet Redwood Mountain Grove.
Widest Tree: 31.4 feet Kings Canyon National Park.
Biggest tree: 642 tons Sequoia National Park.

People say Ya can't the tops of the Giant Redwoods, that's because Your neck can't bend back that far.

People say Ya can't the tops of the Giant Redwoods;

, That's because Your neck can't bend back that far.
Laid down on the ground to get these pictures.

 

We stayed at site #31. There were Four main trees. One each corner. We measured them:

Driver's Side Front = 18' 9"
Passenger's Side Front = 14' 7"
Driver's Side Rear = 16' 1"
Passenger's Side Rear = 22' 7 "
